Kigosi Game Reserve
Kigosi Game Reserve Established in 1983, Kigosi Game
Reserve is the third Game Reserve in Tanzania after the Selous and Rungwa Game
Reserve and covers an area equivalent to 7,000 square km. The attractions
includes:-

the inaccessibility to this reserve contributed to the concentration of rare water birds including the wattled crane and shoebill stork. as it is in Moyowasi the reserve provide perfect and excellent habitation for elusive sitatunga, waterbuck, Buffalo, it is also considered to garbor large number of lion. there is considerable number of island in the swamp where game often concentrates
The Miombo woodland, which is dissected by rivers, create excellent refuge for sable, heartbeest, Buffalo, topi, and other game seen in the woodland. Crocodile and hipo are found in the Gombe Game Reserve to the south.
This site is one of the few areas in Tanzania that Situtanga (Trangelaphus spekei), an antelope species, adapted for life in wetland, occur within a protected area and is possibly one of east African's largest protected populations.
